Dia De Los Muertos: Ofrendas

Join Nicky Martinez on October 28th, 2-4pm for an online shadowbox-making workshop done in the comfort of your home!

Nicky Martinez will educate you on the indigenous practices of Dia de los Muertos, how it has changed since colonization and stayed alive today, and how to commemorate a loved one in a creative shadowbox.

All you need to do is bring pictures of a specific person or pet! This picture can be of a past loved one, pet, or celebrity you admired when they were alive, and make a shadowbox to commemorate them for your next Dia de los Muertos Ofrenda, year-long altar, or just a nice memento for your home.

No experience necessary, all experience levels welcome and encouraged. Just come with your own supplies and be open to learning and creating together.

Suggested contribution: $25-55 *No one turned away, but please  register  in advance due to limited capacity. This workshop is offered during the Aviva Arts Fundraising campaign. Our goal is $8,000 to support community programming. Please give generously.

This is an online workshop that will take place over Zoom.
